Apple Deluged by Decrypting Requests

CNET is reporting that Apple is being deluged by the government's requests to decrypt its iPhones. Currently (there is hope for change on the horizon), law enforcement can search will-nilly through a person's smartphone pursuant to an arrest. Agents hit a wall, though, when the person has an iPhone that is protected with a password and also encrypted. To get around these barriers, they ask Apple to decrypt the phones. Apple now has a months-long backlog of such requests. Read about it here.
