The net appears to be catching up to the needs of professional (and amateur) photographers. Google has just rolled out Search by Image, a search engine that allows users to search for images. How does this help photographers? It appears that Google mixes in an image's metadata into the search. So, a photographer who's encrypted his name into his images should be able to find any unauthorized web uses of it if the infringer hasn't gone to the trouble of wiping the metadata clean. Pretty nifty.
